Explain the strategy to your buddy

What would you do? 1. Each group of desks in the class had 14 desks. There were 9 groups in the class. How many desks were there altogether. 2. David has 24 boxes that each contain 12 dinosaur toys. How many toys does he have altogether? 3. Mrs Campbell loves chocolate. She got a bargain. She purchased 16 cartons, each carton had 8 crunchie bars in it. It cost $7 per carton. How many crunchie bars did she get and how much did she spend? Show your working out using images and your voice.

  1. I know why you are doubling 16 it is to help you get to 8x4=32 because if you don't know your 4 times tables how would you know the answer.You would do it the hard way.

  4. You could do this 7 x 3 and then add 3 7 by Steph

  5. The way for me to solve it 12x7=84 so add 7 it is 91.

    It =91 because I go 7x10=70 then 7x3=23 easy

    13 is made out of 10 and 3
    So
    10 x 7 = 70
    3 x 7 = 21
    So 70 + 21 = 91
    So that's your answer

    10x7=20
    3x7=21
    Add them together wich makes 91
